(11-04-2020): VMware Horizon Client 5.4.1 for ThinPro Released
A new version of the VMware Horizon Client is released for Windows platforms.
PLATFORM:
ThinPro 7
Thinpro 7.1
ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:
Two-factor authentication after remote session timeout Beginning with Horizon 7 version 7.12, an administrator can configure two-factor authentication to occur after a remote session times out. For more information, see the VMware Horizon Console Administration document.
Horizon Universal Broker support You can use Horizon Client for Linux to access desktops from multi-cloud assignments in a cloud brokering environment. For more information, see About Horizon Universal Broker.
Lock key synchronization You can now configure Horizon Client for Linux to synchronize the toggle states of the Num Lock, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock keys from the client system to a remote desktop, and from a remote desktop to the client system. The configuration applies globally to all the remote desktops under a given server connection. For more information, see Configure Lock Key Synchronization.
URL Content Redirection URL content can now be redirected from a Linux client system to a remote desktop or published application (client-to-agent redirection) or from a remote desktop or published application to the client system (agent-to-client redirection). To use this feature, you must install the Firefox browser on the client system and enable the VMware Horizon URL Redirection Extension for Firefox. For more information, see Requirements for Using URL Content Redirection.
Automatic connection of USB devices to published applications New options in the Settings window allow you to connect a USB device automatically to a published application when you start the application or plug the USB device into the client system. You can also configure this behavior using the view.usbAutoConnectAtStartUp and view.usbAutoConnectOnInsert configuration keys or the –usbAutoConnectAtStartUp= and –usbAutoConnectOnInsert= command-line options. For more information, see Use USB Redirection to Connect USB Devices and Horizon Client Configuration Settings and Command-Line Options.
Esc key behavior for thin clients By default, when you press the Esc key on some thin-client systems, it resizes an application window from full-screen mode to window mode. Horizon Client for Linux now bypasses this default behavior for all thin clients except the Raspberry Pi. For example, if you release the mouse pointer focus by pressing Ctrl+Alt and then press Esc, a Horizon Client connection session remains in full-screen mode. The Raspberry Pi is the only thin client that still resizes a connection session window in response to the Esc key, to accommodate the display limitations of that system.
Context menu for restarting or resetting remote desktops You can now restart or reset a remote desktop by right-clicking the desktop icon in the desktop selection window and selecting the corresponding command from the context menu. For more information, see Restart a Remote Desktop and Reset Remote Desktops or Published Applications.
