HP Device Manager 5.0 SP 10

HP has released a new Service Pack for HP Device Manager 5.0

HPDM Console Web Bridge will be removed in this version. This component previously provided access to HPDM Console through a web browser.

New Features in 5.0.10

  • Adds support for the HP t550 thin client
  • Adds support for Windows 10 IoT 21H2 imaging
  • Adds support for Windows PC Converter 11
  • Remove HPCEM Agent Template
  • Enhances HPDM securities by fixing or mitigating the below issues:
    – Security flaws and vulnerabilities scanned by Veracode
    – Weak TLS 1.2 cyphers
    – Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command (‘OS Command Injection’)
    – Insecure binary protections
    – Java deserialization
    – Account takeover – Stealing of Session ID
    – Improper authorization – User group privileges
    – Ports overly exposed
    – Hardcoded sensitive information – Credentials and Secrets
    – Vulnerable software versions issue
    – Remove Console Web Bridge
    – Web Directories Listable Vulnerability
  • Updates Profile Editor in HPDM to version 8.0.0.14
  • Updates JRE, OpenSSL, Apache, and PHP in HPDM to the latest versions to help prevent the occurrence of vulnerabilities

Issues fixed in HPDM 5.0.10.

  • Gateway service crashing.
  • Issue for HPDM5.0.9 Search and Find TP 7.1 Units.
  • ‘Ok’ button is not grey after removing all columns through multiselect.
  • Some tasks’ valid time will not trigger if previous task keeps sending in status.
  • Disable “username” and “password” fields when creating or migrating SQL server DB with Windows Authentication.
  • Enhancement: Cached imaging task fails because of limited free space on ThinPro Box site.
  • Fix for HPDM Mapping Policy strategy issue.
  • Wrong count of HPDM Pending Tasks.
  • The HPDM Console Web Bridge component will be removed from HP Device Manager due to underlying security risks. 

Known issues in HPDM 5.0.10.

In edge cases the HPDM database may contain duplicate keys, which will prevent the service pack from installing correctly. HP released a tool to de-duplicate the HPDM Database.
