Service Pack 12 will sign the Kernel and all Kernel modules. It changes the signing key in the BIOS, this means:
If you install Service Pack 12 and *then* install a previous 7.1 image with an SP *prior* to SP12, the unit will NOT BOOT and you will get a black screen or an error message.
(This is because the older image contains a kernel that is NOT SIGNED.)
If you need to use and older image, u will need to turn off secure boot.
You should capture a new golden image, when you start using SP12 in your environment.

Download the service pack through HP Thin Update or by using HP Update Center from HP Device Manager.
Next to this HP also released a ThinPro 7.1 image directly based on SP12.
